History
Shapetry was launched in April 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic by a group of researchers from the University of Calgary. Working closely with doctors in the front lines of COVID-19 response and Alberta Health Services, Shapetry has developed the MapleSwab: a proprietary design for a 3D printable nasopharyngeal swab.
Health Canada Authorization Pending
Shapetry is undergoing review by Health Canada under the Interim Order Respecting the Importation and Sale of Medical Devices for Use in Relation to COVID-19, made by the Minister of Health on March 18, 2020.
Biocompatible and Quality Control Certified
The MapleSwab is produced with fully biocompatible resin commonly used in medical implants and devices. All processes of production, packaging, and sterilization are conducted in ISO 13485: 2016 certified facilities.
